Date held: November 8, 2007 Duration: One Hour
Commerce around the world is supported by global payments standards. Most originating payments systems require appropriate authentication and authorization validation before approving and releasing individual, high-value payments. However, most systems only verify access rather than the identity of the person using the credentials. Companies need to ensure that identity is authenticated before a digital identity certificate is issued and then validate that it is still valid each time it's used. Companies must be able to trust that the person accessing the system is actually the party who should have the access credentials. Without individual identity authentication there is no individual accountability.
Web seminar attendees will hear how a leading global corporation is using digital identity certificates to provide accountability down to the individual who generates the payments files sent to the banks, and, how a global financial institution and bulk file processors are responding to the request from these corporations to provide a more comprehensive audit trail that includes the verification of individuals on both the issuing and receiving ends of the file transfer. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Understand the need for individual rather than corporate level signing of files
- Gain a better understanding of the risk and costs associated with not having this level of detailed accountability
- Learn how these individual signatures are going to be used with SWIFT's FileAct for cross border transactions
